About Me

Now, you are probably wondering who I am and why you would want me to tutor your child. I hope this page with answer some of the questions you may have and give you a little background information on who I am.

My name is Madeline Sweat. I am 14 years old and in the 8th grade at Pleasant Valley, but I currently take two honors classes (geometry and biology) at the high school. I have been volunteering at the Family Museum in Bettendorf for three and a half years. I recently was the first ever recipient of the Helping Hands Youth Volunteer Award for my services at the museum and for having 230+ hours. I currently have around 250 hours.

In elementary school I helped teach several E.L.P. (Extended learning program) classes at Riverdale Heights. I even developed the curriculum and lesson plans for a 4th grade economics class. The kids absolutely loved it!

I love school and I enjoy working with younger children. I have helped my younger brother with his schoolwork before (he is currently 9 years old and in the 3rd grade.) I think it is important to make learning fun for children in a productive environment. In a one-on-one session with your child, I can help them learn in the way that works best for them. Students may also want a challenge in some areas of school so they can continue to learn. I will help and challenge your child so they can be the best that they can be.
